The Power of Purpose: How Responsibility Shapes Identity of Youths

The Power of Purpose: How Responsibility Shapes the Identity of Youths. It is very tough to give a meaningful identity in this rushed world. For a purposeful identity, we need to do the hard work and show today's youth. All youths are trapped in the digital era. It means I am not saying the digital world is a disadvantage for them. I mean, they must use the digital platform to grow themselves and make a bright future in it. If youth don't understand the responsibility, it will have a bad impact on their future.

In an era of rapid change and digital distraction, the search for identity among youths has become more complex than ever. While many external factors influence this future journey, one of the most powerful and often overlooked catalysts is the embrace of responsibility. Every child of youth should carry at least one responsibility of their household. It will make them responsible for taking part in any work in their future. The responsibility shapes their life too, and they can understand about responsibility to the country. Responsibility makes them sharp and helps them to make their identity in society.

The act of taking ownership—for one's actions, goals, and community—is not merely a duty but a fundamental process through which a young person's sense of self is forged, and they can conclude it is too tough or light to build a strong and positive future.

Community development work, rooting out social evil from society, respect for elders and women, quality education, and technical knowledge all these things help them to shape their identity. Actually, it is a field where youth can give their participation to make a dynamic society. Building a bright future needs to framework of responsibilities.

In youth, this responsibility provides a framework for purpose, transforming abstract ideals into concrete actions, and shaping a flexible, purpose-driven identity, giving them a strong sense of direction that is empowering in itself. It teaches important life skills such as accountability, facing challenges fearlessly, perseverance, and empathy. When a youth is assigned a task or role, they have the opportunity to prove their abilities, discover their strengths and identity, and contribute to something larger than themselves.

This contribution, in turn, will boost their self-confidence and build a sense of belonging. The true power of responsibility lies in keeping a young person from distraction and keeping them focused and committed to their responsibilities. When anyone takes on any responsibility, the question always remains in their mind: "How will I accomplish it?" "What can I achieve?" "By when will I be able to do it?" "What can I give back to society?" These questions will arise and help them become responsible citizens. This kind of responsibility will shape their future.

Family Responsibility: The Foundation of the Home

Every parent has a responsibility to run the household, provide proper education to their children, provide a healthy life, build accountability as a responsible individual in society, and fight against social evils. Parents are the ones who learn the ropes; serving the nation comes later. Parents won't live on this earth forever; their responsibilities must be handed over to someone in the family so that in the future, your son or daughter will shoulder all the responsibilities you are currently shouldering. This requires instilling responsibility in children from a young age so that they understand responsibility as a responsibility, not a burden.

Responsibility goes beyond chores and duties; it's about recognizing one's role in the collective welfare. Even small responsibilities like caring for younger siblings, helping with household finances, or supporting parents by buying groceries from the market should be encouraged to ensure that they don't shirk responsibility in the future. If they learn to give today, they can take responsibility for the household; otherwise, they will be labeled irresponsible.

The act of putting another person's needs before their own is learned and helps a young person see themselves not as an isolated individual, but as a valued and integral part of a family, within a support system. These responsibilities provide a sense of purpose and belonging that deeply affirms their sense of responsibility.

The tasks they are given have a tangible impact on the lives of those they love, and they hope that there is someone else in the family who can fulfill this responsibility. This develops a strong sense of reliability and trustworthiness. This experience of being dependent and providing support builds a mature identity that values loyalty and caring for family, skills that can be transferred to all future relationships.

Community Responsibility: Active Citizenship

Every individual has a responsibility to ensure a safe and prosperous community. After the elders in the community, the responsibility falls on the new youth. Community responsibility involves young people stepping outside their social circle and connecting with the wider world. This can involve volunteering, such as keeping the community clean, or building a drug-free society.

All of this involvement can occur through advocating for a cause they believe in. Active citizenship is powerful because it connects a young person's broader identity to social work. When a young person volunteers at a local shelter, cleans a park, organizes fundraisers, or helps patients reach the hospital, they are not simply performing a task, but are exercising social responsibility and contributing to the fabric of their community.

This participation helps them see themselves as active agents of change rather than passive observers. It also prepares them to become future leaders, exposing them to diverse perspectives and challenges, thereby developing social awareness and a sense of civic duty. By working together with others toward a common goal, they develop leadership skills, social engagement, communication skills, and a sense of collective identity.

The pride they feel from positively impacting their community reinforces their identity as a compassionate and active citizen, a fundamental aspect of a healthy and mature self-concept.

Time to Straighten Your Bent Back - For The Coming Generation

Time for the next generation to straighten their bent backs. If we can't bear the burden of our own generation, how can we bear the burden of the next? We must understand that we are carrying the burden of decades—the burden of concessions made due to political pressure and the need for changes in laws and regulations, the burden of conflicts and deferred dreams due to inflation, digital pressure, and the changing mindset of the younger generation.  The pressure of unresolved social issues and the legacy of inaction often leave us, the current generation, bent, both literally and figuratively. Believing that the enormous task of fixing what is broken is too difficult, too overwhelming, and too easy to do now is too easy. We tell ourselves, "It's too late," or "Someone else will handle it." But this sacrifice will come at a great cost, one that will be borne by those who come after us. The call to action, "Time for the next generation to straighten the...
